Have peace of mind while you are away from home. We are a responsible and friendly couple who have lived in many homes around the world. Here are some services we can offer:
Home Care
Come back to the same home you left it as, or more likely, in even better condition. We will do general cleaning and upkeep (as per the owner's instructions) as well as proper care of scheduled trash and recycling days. After living for two years fetching all of our water from a stream and sourcing electricity from the sun, we have become extra conscious and conservative with our electricity and water use.
Did we mention that we really like to clean up neighborhoods? Check out the anti-litter project we co-founded in Korea, #CleanGwangju.
If you have any projects that you have been meaning to get to, perhaps we can help you with the kick you needed to get started or maybe even do it for you! In the past, we've painted, organized furniture to maximize space efficiency, did some basic home renovation work, helped sell people's unwanted goods, and lots of odds and ends as HelpX volunteers.
Pet Care
Pets are also part of the family! We will make sure that your pet is loved, fed, walked, cleaned and happy. We can also bring your pets to vet visits if necessary. Adam has an affinity for dogs and Lianne for cats, but we love all kinds of animals. And generally, they like us too. In northern Thailand, we volunteered with Care For Dogs. In addition to dogs and cats, we have experience taking care of chickens, rabbits, reptiles, and birds. If you like, we can send weekly or daily updates and photos of your pets; just let us know!
Garden Care
We can water your plants and do simple garden maintenance in addition to managing compost heaps, worm farms, mulching, pruning, etc. -- as per your instructions. We have experience volunteering on organic farms in Thailand and Australia as well as worked as agriculture extension agents in Zambia. Wouldn't it be nice to come back to a weed-free and freshly mowed lawn?
Security
We will keep your property and personal belongings safe from burglars. An empty house is a susceptible one. Have peace of mind when you're away.
Maintenance
Enjoy your holiday with peace of mind that your home is looked after and your appliances don't leak your finances. For example, at a previous housesit, Adam discovered the toilet had been dispensing water constantly while unused. He quickly performed some light maintenance on the water tank and fixed the drip. We are very environmentally-conscious when it comes to energy and water-usage. Your bills will likely be lower than normal with us around.
